Rachelle’s first short film TWO DOSAS was met with critical acclaim, premiering at the BFI London Film Festival, and winning multiple awards, including Best Comedy at The London Short Film Festival and Oscar®-qualifying film festival, Aspen ShortFest. She also executive produced, Harry Lighton’s short film, WREN BOYS which went on to be BIFA and BAFTA nominated. She is currently developing Jonathan Schey’s debut feature AVI through iFeatures and is execing Tessa Sheridan’s new film UNMOURNED.
Her slate includes projects with Harry Lighton (WREN BOYS), Sebastian Thiel (BBC Three’s JUST A COUPLE) and playwrights, Laura Poliakoff, Tallulah Brown and Phil Porter as well as adapting Imran Ahmad’s beguiling multi-layered memoir, THE PERFECT GENTLEMAN for TV with filmmaker, Sarmad Masud who recently represented Britain in the Foreign-Language Oscar Race with his debut film, MY PURE LAND.
Prior to producing independently, Rachelle worked at ITV as a Script Editor on ITV1’s LEWIS and Agatha Christie’s series MISS MARPLE and POIROT. She helped adapt and develop a number of Agatha Christie classics for television including, Poirot Hallowe’en Party and Mrs McGinty’s Dead.
Rachelle moved to the BBC as a Development Producer across Drama for the BBC Writersroom. She developed and produced two series of THE BREAK, an exciting venture between BBC Three and BBC Studios to produce five original films written by up-and-coming writing talent from across the UK. She is currently working as an associate producer on THE FEED, a new TV series for Amazon starring Harry Potter’s David Thewlis and Game of Thrones’ Michelle Fairley.
She completed her degree in Media Arts at Royal Holloway, University of London with a First Degree with honours. She was awarded a full bursary from her University to study an MA in Film and Television Producing taught by British film and television producer, Tony Garnett.
