“This is it now, just me and you, tight as a knot. And nothing gets in, and nothing gets it spoilt, and nothing infects it, yeah? Tight as anything, like we got to breathe together. Like we got the same lungs and blood cells and we only got one heart. This is now forever.”
The Cracks In My Skin is a funny, mucky and ultimately heartbreaking story of love, family and those that get left behind. Set over a long summer in a small English city, it follows a handful of misfits trying to find a way to belong. In particular it centres on sixteen-year-old Janie and her attempt to build around her the kind of loving family she never had.
